All About Me

I am honoured to be Vice-Principal at The Ottawa Jewish Community School (OJCS).  I was born and raised here in Ottawa and moved to Toronto to complete my Honours Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education from York University.  I was thankful to participate in their Concurrent Education program.  While there, I lived on the Glendon College campus and had the opportunity to do coursework in French and live in a French-language setting.  Upon graduation in 2001, I was hired to work here at Hillel Academy.  I spent many years in the classroom teaching both the primary and junior divisions.  I then had the opportunity to work at Vancouver Talmud Torah, which still holds a special place in my heart.  Upon my return to Ottawa, I returned to Hillel Academy (which had become OJCS) and became passionate about supporting my students with special needs and so did coursework which led to my joining the administrative team as the Special Resource Coordinator for almost a decade.  This role allowed me to work with students from every grade (K-12).  The aim of this position was to ensure students with special needs were able to meaningfully access their learning programs, as well as coaching teachers regarding best practice in making that happen.  I then received my Master of Education in Leadership Administration from the University of Ottawa, as well as completed my Principal’s Qualifications Program.  I am thrilled to be Vice Principal of this incredible school, led by our North Stars and deeply committed to life-long learning.
